v0.31 Released - Potion Sickness, Many Quality of Life Improvements, Improved Roll Dodge, Bug Fixes
With playtesting for v0.30 well underway, I took some time to kick back and play a few games in my backlog (looking at you, Vampire Survivors). But now that feedback and reports are rolling in, I have identified some areas that needed improvement as well as implemented a few enhancements and quality of life features that the game has needed.
None of the changes in this patch are as game-changing as v0.30, but there are still a few that will make a meaningful change to your experience as you play:

-Roll dodges can now be performed diagonally. It also gives you invincibility frames when touching enemies, though you are still vulnerable to their projectiles and weapons.
-Potions now cause a brief bout of sickness when you take them. This means that you cannot drink another potion while sickness is active, and your movement speed is cut in half. This is indicated by the purple color of your character and the bubbles that appear over their head.
-When you drink a potion, text appears above the player's head telling you how many are left in your stack.
-You cannot drink potions if the stat it restores is already maxed out. (e.g if you try to drink a health potion with maximum health, the game won't let you).
-When leveling up, your Health and Mana are completely filled.
-If items drop from enemies and they are in places your character cannot reach, they will move to a place where they can.
-Stamina no longer deducts in hub stages and stores.
-Once after each boss fight, you have the ability to respec all of your Feats. However, there are a few Feats in the game that modify inventory sizes and forge bonuses - these are permanent and cannot be undone.
-Dark Clerics no longer heal themselves. This was never meant to be in their behavior, but it's a bug that's been sitting in their code for more than two years now.
-Dark Clerics also no longer try to heal dead Slime Balls bouncing around.
-Occasional text parsing issues have been fixed, and a few descriptions that overflowed in the text box have been corrected.
-A few items had defective shaders, but this has been corrected.
-Spell and inventory sounds no longer play on startup.
-The UI now properly follows the player when being forcibly moved. This mostly showed up in the second zone boss fight.

In the coming week, I'll post a new devlog about what my plans are from here. The v0.30 update was meant to be the last major content update until the release of the game, but there is still the question of when the Infinite Mode (renamed to the Arcade Mode) will be implemented.
I want to have some version of this working soon, but I have to consider how this will be done given the perspective of the game. In the meantime, I'll continue to post updates of new content added, and I will also be posting some updated screenshots of the game and a new trailer very soon.
Stay tuned for new content - now that the first two zones of the game are effectively done, this frees me up to focus on finishing the rest of the game!
